Delphine Horvilleur · Biography

Delphine Horvilleur is a prominent figure in the realms of Jewish culture and religion and the author of several best-sellers in France. She is a rabbi in the Liberal Jewish Movement of France (JEM) in Paris and the Editorial Director of Tenoua, an independent online media outlet and platform for contemporary Jewish thought. Since 2018, she has been leading the Tenoua Workshops (“Ateliers Tenoua”), study and dialogue sessions that regularly bring together some 300 people every month in Paris.

Some of her books have been published in English: How Isn’t It Going? Conversations after October 7 (Europa Editions, 2025), Living with our dead, stories of loss and consolation (Europa Editions, 2024), Anti-Semitism Revisited: How the Rabbis Made Sense of Hatred (MacLehose, 2021).

Her book Vivre avec nos morts, published in France in 2021 and in the US in 2024 under the title Living with our dead, stories of loss and consolation, has inspired the HBO Max series “Reformed.”
